Spotlight Books trainees not only learn, they earn!

Spotlight Books (formerly Virginia Social Ventures (VSV)) is a program of The Up Center, a nonprofit 501(c)3 child and family services organization located in Norfolk, Virginia. Spotlight Books is a nonprofit business in the Hampton Roads area which provides a pathway out of poverty through on-the-job training, support services and employment opportunities, decreasing the need for public support and increasing long term economic self-sufficiency.

Our nonprofit business trains and employs homeless and very low-income people. This social enterprise is a real business that saves the public money by producing income to leverage community funding for social programs. It provides hands-on training in a real-world environment. And, 100% of our income supports these efforts.
